They are good guessers who look for clues and form their own conclusions. When they guess wrong, they guess again. They try to learn from their mistakes.

Sccessful language learning is active learning. Therefore, succeful learners do not wait for a chance to use the language; the look for such a chance. They find people who speak the language and they ask these people to correct them when they make a mistake. They will try anything to communicate. They are not afraid to repeat what they hear or to say strange things;they are willing to make mistakes and try again. When communication is diffcult, they can acept information that is inexact or incomplete. It is more iportant for them to learn to think in the language than to know the meaning of every word.

Finally, successful language learners are learners with a purpose. They want to learn the language because they are iterested in the language and the people who speak it. It is necesary for them to learn the language in order to communicate with these people and to learn from them They find it easy to practice usig the language regularly bcause they want to learn with it.

What kind of language learner are you?If you are a successful language learner, you have probably been learning independently, actively, and purposefully. On the other hand,if your language learning has been less than successful, you might do well to try some of the techniques outlined above.

WenChuan Earthquake

12th May 2008, an earthquake of magnitude 8.0 struck northwestern Wenchuan, Sichuan province of China, this event has been called both the Great Sichuan Earthquake and the Wenchuan Earthquake . It is the most devastating earthquake in China in more than three decades. Sichuan Province violently shook central China. The quake has left over 70,000 people dead with more still missing. This was the deadliest and strongest earthquake in China since the 1976 Tangshan earthquake.

Response to the Wenchuan Earthquake was immediate, with Premier Wen Jiabao flying to Chengdu within 90 minutes, and with tens of thousands of rescue personnel, including brigades from the People's Liberation Army moving into action within 24 hours. Rescue efforts were extremely difficult from the outset, owing to the difficult terrain, and to extensive damage to the basic infrastructure. All roads connecting to Wenchuan Xian had been cut, and more than 80% of the structures in Beichuan Xian had collapsed. Half of all wireless communications in Sichuan Province were knocked out, including 2,300 base stations owned by China Mobile, and 700 towers owned by China Unicom. Well it was built in defense of invasion. In the Spring and Autumn Period and Warring States Period, many states, especially those in the north of China, were threatened by the barbarian Xiongnu (huns), who even invaded Europe in the fourth and fifth century. They attacked the northern states from time to time and took everything away and burnt the houses down into ground. So the states were forced to build a high wall to prevent Xiongnu from attacking again. And that is why many dynasties were building new walls.

Every time enemy troops was found, the message was flamed by signal fires from one beacon tower to another, then troops gathered, and battles followed.

When was the Great Wall of China built
As I said in my previous post, the Qi state began to build the wall, but when was the Great Wall of China finished? Well this is hard to answer. In fact, many dynasties made their contributions to the construction of the Great Wall. The Great Wall we see today was most built by the Ming dynasty, but the irony is that the Great Wall served no purpose for the defense of Ming dynasty, which was taken over by Qing dynasty.

How long did it take to built the Great Wall of China
The Great Wall was more than two thousand years ago, Qin shi huang, the first emperor of Qin dynasty started to build the Great Wall, but it was not finished even after the death of Qin dynasty.

How long is the Great Wall of China
The Great Wall is over then thousands miles long, that is why it is call wan li chang cheng in Chinese. And the Chinese and foreign experts are to map it and the exact length will be published.

How tall is the Great Wall of China
It is three meters in height, and 10-15 meters wide.

Great Wall of China

The Great Wall of China

The Great Wall of China is a living miracle also a legend of the ancient Chinese people.
